Colleges, Eggs, and Presidency 5

I just eggsperienced one of the most fun, fast and furious weeks of my entire life as a George W. Bush Impersonator. Though it didn't include skydiving or shark fishing, it included facing hundreds of college students, and the representatives of over thirty countries. There were no looping rollercoasters, but there was a national audience of Herman Cain fans, and five thousand other Florida delagates.

Perhaps we bit off more than we can chew, I mused in the days before my friend Dale Leigh (a terriffic Bill Clinton Impersonator) and I left for seven college appearances in three days, or was that three appearances in seven days?

Dale and I form the comedy and communication team of Morgan and Leigh, better known as Bill and George's Excellent Adventure. Together we created a version of our show suited to colleges during Constitution Week. Dale had created a Constitution week show including a game show with student participation called, "Know Your Constitution." (Mine's just fine due to a regular intake of fiber thank you very much) We tweaked it to include our zany brand of comedy, some music, (Dale is a wonerful bass player, and I play guitar,) and genuine facts about the constitution presented in hard to forget fashion, as part of the game show.

Each show had its own set of perameters, and no two locations were anything alike. We were in large auditoriums which seated over five hundred students, to intimate rooms that were, by definition, slightly larger than a broom closet. We had acoustic heaven and lunchroom nightmares. We truly had to make it up as we go.

It was a blast being with the students, who were very receptive to two old guys trying to be cool. It really was a whole lotta fun.

We performed three times on Monday, on three different campuses, twice on Tuesday and twice on Wednesday. Seven campuses in all. Never was I more thankful for GPS!

I had no time to loose though, because Thursday, after a whopping two hours of sleep, I was on a USAIR flight to Washington D.C., to perform in the Andrew C. Mullen Auditorium, on Constitution Avenue, for the egg people. Egg people you might querie? Who are the egg people? Eggcellent question! USAPEEC, USA Poultry and Egg Export Council, and IEC, the International Egg Council. Folks who make their living with eggs. Their annual meeting was attended by eggcellent eggamples of egg farmers from around the world. We had so much fun together! I barely got back to my hotel in time to get some sleep before heading back south.

I dressed in character, because from the airport, my own first lady, my wonderful wife Kathy drove me to the Orange County Convention Center, where we participated in there days of Presidency 5 and CPAC Florida, along with my son Stephen! We hobnobbed and took photos with folks until on the last day of the convention, when I and my friend Patsy Gilbert (Sarah Palin) entertained the crowd before they announced the winner of the Presidency 5 Florida Straw Poll.

Wow! It was like being at The Republican National Convention! the stage was Ginormous! Thousands of delegates, from the Florida Counties, we were pleased to find ourselves facing enthusiastic cheers as we walked on stage, one after the other. What a thrill to perform on the same stage where I had heard Governor Rick Perry speak earlier.

The week ended with one last opportunity on stage, playing guitar in the Worship band at my home church.

I could not have accomplished nearly what I did without the help of my son Stephen Morgan, thanks Steve!

It was a week to remember.
